West Indies announced the ODI series against UAE ahead of CWC Qualifiers: West Indies cricket board announced a Three match ODI series against the United Arab Emirates from 5th June to 9th June in Sharjah. West Indies is going to play a bilateral series against UAE for the first time in Cricket History.

UAE will host a bilateral series at Sharjah just before the World Cup Qualifiers. It seems like they were playing a warm-up match just before the big event. Players of West Indies continuously play T20 matches.

They announced a series against UAE to adopt the format and get some experience of playing cricket in the dry conditions, which will help them in Zimbabwe during the ICC World Cup Qualifier.

Two-time World Cup winners would not be able to get automatic qualification for CWC 2023 and were going to participate in 10 team tournaments, including UAE. The top two teams of CWC Qualifiers will book their spot for Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

Some new players of both teams are going to play their first One-day International match for their respective countries, which will give some experience of bilateral series in foreign conditions.

Sharjah is selected to host all three matches of the ODI series against West Indies on 5th June, 7th June and last on 9th June. After completing the bilateral series, both teams will go to Zimbabwe for World Cup Qualifiers.

“This will be our first ever Bilateral series against UAE” says WI Director, Jimmy Adams:

West Indies Cricket Board Director Jimmy Adams says, ” This will be our First ever Bilateral series against UAE, and this is a historic move to play Three matches ODI series against UAE.”
