Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Yashasvi Jaiswal are within the top ten rankings in the Test format. India are the only team that have three players within the top ten Test rankings for the batters. On Wednesday, the ICC released the latest rankings, which saw Joe Root maintaining his top spot after a brilliant game against Sri Lanka in Manchester.

As a result, he has continued to dominate the Test rankings for the batters. He is followed by two Kiwi stars. Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell, with 859 and 768 ratings, are in second and third spots, respectively. On the other hand, English star Harry Brook, who had an excellent first Test against England, is now moved to 4th spot from 7th. He scored 56 and 32 in the first game.

Former Australian captain Steve Smith is in 5th place with 757 rating points. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has slipped one place. He is currently in 6th place with 751 rating points. Jaiswal has a leap of one spot, and he is at 7th with 740 rating points.

Virat Kohli, who hasn’t played a Test match since January 2024, has jumped two spots to 8th. His jump came after the poor form for Babar Azam in Test cricket. The former Pakistani captain scored 0 and 22 in the first Test against Bangladesh, which Pakistan lost by ten wickets.

Babar’s poor form has pushed him six points down to the ninth spot. Mohammad Rizwan, who had an excellent game against Bangladesh for his 171* and 51, has jumped seven spots up to his career-best ranking of 10.

India will be playing ten Tests in the coming few months, which will give good chances to Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Yashasvi Jaiswal to move up in the rankings. In bowler’s rankings, Ravichandran Ashwin has maintained his spot at No. 1.

Jasprit Bumrah is in third place, and Ravindra Jadeja is seventh in the rankings. In all-rounder’s rankings, Jadeja is at the top with 444 ratings, while Ashwin is second with 322 ratings. India’s Axar Patel is 6th with 269 rating points.

On the other hand, India are at the top in ODIs and T20Is, while Australia are second in these two rankings. Meanwhile, in Test format, these two reverse their roles. Australia are the No. 1 ranked Test team at the moment, while India are ranked second.
