T20I: USA has announced a 15-member T20 squad against Canada: The USA team for their April 7 match against Canada includes former New Zealand international Corey Anderson.

In advance of the massive event, which starts on June 1st, the co-hosts of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will play five Twenty20 international matches against their neighbors.

After moving to the United States upon the Major League Cricket (MLC) announcement, Anderson, who last competed for the Black Caps in 2018, is now qualified to represent the United States.

The 33-year-old has been playing in Minor Division Cricket (MiLC), the Major League Cricket (MLC) feeder division and he has amassed over 900 runs in 28 innings with a strike rate of 146.

Other inclusions include former India U19 player Harmeet Singh, former Canada captain Nitish Kumar, and former South Africa domestic stars Andries Goss and Shadley van Schalkwyk.

Unmukt Chand, the former U19 World Cup-winning captain for India, was notably left out of the squad, despite being the leading run-scorer in MiLC history since its inception in 2021.

Regarding the choice of the squad, USA captain Monank Patel stated: “With the ICC T20 World Cup looming, this series holds immense significance for our team.

We have some new players coming into the squad, and these games will help us get the right combinations and prepare well for the World Cup.”

The matches will take place from 7 to 13 April at the Prairie View Cricket Complex (PVCC), in Houston, Texas.
