T20I Ranking: ICC Mens T20 Player Batting Rankings after the T20 match between England and West Indies: Phil Salt’s incredible form has taken the opening batsman to second place in the MRF Tires T20I batting rankings, with his career-high rating of 802.

Salt was one of several players to enjoy a bounce from the high-scoring West Indies vs England T20I series in the Caribbean after the latest update on Wednesday.

The England opener’s scores of 119 and 38 in Trinidad took him up 18 places to his career-high rating of 802, 15 rating points behind third-placed Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan (787).

Despite Salt’s leap, there is daylight between the rest of the field and top-ranked Suryakumar Yadav, with the India batsman still clear on 887.

Fellow English batsman Liam Livingstone also enjoyed a surge in the batting rankings, moving up 27 places to 38th after innings of 54* and 28 in the same matches. Livingstone’s work also helped in the all-rounder category as he moved up four places to eighth (175). His move means compatriot Moeen Ali and Pakistan’s Shadab Khan are tied at ninth place (173).

West Indies won the five-match T20I series 3–2 and won the final, largely on the strength of their bowling, restricting England to just 132 runs in the final and completing the chase for the loss of six wickets.

Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein took 2/20 in four overs in the win and moved up two places to fourth (683), overtaking Sri Lankan pair Wanindu Hasaranga and Mahish Theekshana (679 and 677 respectively). Gudakesh Moti jumped 75 places after claiming 3/24 (4) in the same outing, while England’s Reece Topley moved up 13 places to enter the top 10 bowlers after taking five wickets in two matches throughout the week. Meanwhile, there have been a number of minor reshuffles due to the ODI series between New Zealand and Bangladesh as well as India’s trip to South Africa.

Shoriful Islam’s impressive performance with the ball in hand has seen him move up 24 places to 35th, while India’s young left-hander Arshdeep Singh has climbed 41 places, though is still outside the top 100.
