Bangladesh will host Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series from May 3-12 in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the schedule of the five-match T20 series against Zimbabwe in the international T20 format tournament. Bangladesh will host the Zimbabwe team in this series and this team is to reach Bangladesh on 28 April.
These matches will help the Tigers hone their skills ahead of the crucial T20 World Cup 2024. Bangladesh are also scheduled to play a three-match T20I series against the United States later the same month.
The first three matches of the series between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will be played at Tigers’ home ground Chattogram, while the last two T20 matches will be played at Mirpur ground.
Schedule for Zimbabwe Tour to Bangladesh: All matches of this series are according to Bangladesh Standard Time (BST)
On April 28, 2024, the Zimbabwe cricket team arrived in Dhaka and subsequently traveled to Chattogram. They are scheduled to play a series of T20 international matches during their stay in Bangladesh. The fixtures are as follows:
- May 3, 2024: 1st T20I at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS), Chattogram, scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
- May 5, 2024: 2nd T20I at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS), Chattogram, scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
- May 7, 2024: 3rd T20I at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS), Chattogram, scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM.
- May 10, 2024: 4th T20I at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS), Mirpur, scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
- May 12, 2024: 5th T20I at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS), Mirpur, scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
Following the conclusion of the series, the Zimbabwe cricket team is set to depart on May 13, 2024.
In related news, the BCB and Zimbabwe Cricket agreed to move their two-match bilateral Test series to Bangladesh, originally scheduled from 2024 to 2025. This will be the first test series between the two teams since 2018.
