T20 World Cup 2024: Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma are likely to play the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024- Reports: As per the latest reports, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are expected to participate in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The Chief Selector, Ajit Agarkar will talk with head coach Rahul Dravid, Skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli before the announcement of the squad for the T20I series against Afghanistan.
After the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma didn’t play a single bilateral T20I series as The Key players were focused on ODI World Cup 2023 but unfortunately, Indian Team failed to win the tournament despite performing phenomenally in the league stage and semi-final.
Now, The focus has shifted toward ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after the ODI World Cup 2023 and BCCI want both players to play in the upcoming tournament however, reports say they too want to play but the final decision will taken by the chief selector Ajit Agarkar and other selectors Shiv Sunder Das and Salil Ankola, who will talk with these players regarding their participation in the T20I cricket.
BCCI to announce squad for T20I series against Afghanistan & Update on T20 World Cup 2024:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will soon announce the squad for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, which is scheduled to start on January 11, 2024. The Players in the series will most likely play in the T20 World Cup 2024, which is why the BCCI is taking so much time to announce the squad.
BCCI is monitoring 30 T20 players for the T20 World Cup 2024, who performed well in domestic and international cricket, including IPL stars. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be held in the USA and West Indies and the tournament is scheduled to start from June 04 to June 30.
