T20 World Cup 2024: No Pat Cummins As Australian Head Coach Revealed Their New Captain for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024: Australian Head Coach Andrew McDonald reveals their new captain for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 which is scheduled to start from June 01, 2024. Andrew has officially announced that Mitchell Marsh will be leading the Australian side in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024,

Pat Cummins led the Australian Team to victory in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 and ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023. However, despite having such a wonderful and successful career, Pat Cummins will not be leading the Australian After Australian Head Coach Andrew McDonald announced their new skipper for the upcoming ICC mega Event.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be played between June 01, 2024, to June 29, 2024, whereas the USA and West Indies will be hosting the whole tournament. Australian Team will be playing their first match of the tournament against Oman on June 05, 2024, at Kensington Oval Cricket Ground in Barbados.

Why Mitchell Marsh over Pat Cummins for the T20 World Cup 2024:

There is no doubt about the capabilities of Pat Cummins as a skipper for the Australian Team but he wasn’t that good in T20 cricket and Cummins’s stats are also not good therefore Australian Team Management took such a significant step.

Australia Head Coach Andrew McDonald believes Mitchell Marsh has an excellent understanding of T20 cricket and his stats are way better than Pat Cummins. Under Mitchell Marsh’s captaincy, the Australian Team won the bilateral series against New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies however, he hasn’t led the side in any ICC tournament so far.

Australian Head Coach Andrew McDonald on Mitchell Marsh as new Skipper:

“I think all roads will lead to Mitchell Marsh, so just got to get that ticked off in certain areas. We are happy and comfortable with the way he has been able to operate with that T20 team. We Think he’s the leader for the World Cup, and I think that will just be a matter of due course,” stated Andrew McDonald as quoted by the Australian cricket team’s official site (cricket.com.au).
