As the T20 World Cup 2022 is approaching, the Indian cricket team needs to settle down its middle-order. The last time in 2021, the team was still trying to fix the middle order. However, in the recent interview, Rahul Dravid did say that they have found a combination for the T20 World Cup 2022. The World Cup is going to be played in Australia and India will be looking to lift their second T20 World Cup. Here is a look at the top 5 middle-order batsmen in contention:

1) Suryakumar Yadav can be picked for T20 World Cup 2022:

Suryakumar Yadav currently is the front runner in the race for being a middle-order batsman. Surya has been doing exceptionally well in the IPL for the past 3 years. In the recently held series against England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, West Indies, and South Africa, SKY has been elite. He plays the spinners well and is a 360-degree player.

2) Rishabh Pant:

Rishabh can be a good fit at the number 4 position. IMG SRC: The Indian Express.

Rishabh Pant has become the top-choice wicket-keeper for India. The left-hander also makes it tricky for the opposition. He is a smart and brave player. When Rishabh plays, he rules the game. He is an attacking player and can play the finisher’s role. Alongside Venkatesh Iyer, Rishabh can increase the run rate whenever required.

3) Shreyas Iyer can be picked for T20 World Cup 2022:

Shreyas Iyer has been blooming since 2018. It is a real pity that he was not picked for ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Shreyas can bat from number 3 to number 6 at any position. His flexibility makes his case stronger. There is not a cleaner striker of the spinners other than Shreyas Iyer. Taking the leadership role at KKR will help him grow as a person. He will also be an integral part of the leadership group in absence of senior members.

4) Venkatesh Iyer:

Venkatesh Iyer, this phenomenon has blown away the case of the injured Hardik Pandya. Venky, after the West Indies series, has almost sealed his place as the fast-bowling all-rounder. Now, after the arrival of Hardik Pandya, how the BCCI handles both these players will be a big question? Iyer has played as an opener for KKR and will continue doing so. He plays at position 6 for the Madhya Pradesh team and this shows his flexibility.

Honorable Mention:

5) Hardik Pandya can be picked for T20 World Cup 2022:

Hardik Pandya has to deal with his injuries and pain and has to start bowling. After being chosen as a leader for the Gujarat Titans, Hardik has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. Hardik Pandya is one of the biggest match-winners in the country. He hits the spin bowlers like no other batsmen. He hits the ball a long mile.
