Team India are ready for the upcoming challenge in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They will be playing in Group A with Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and the USA. Rohit Sharma will lead the charge and will look to end India’s ICC trophy drought. The Men in Blue have not won an ICC title since 2013. They have played numerous knockout matches but couldn’t win when it mattered a lot. That is the reason that Indian fans have high expectations of the team.
India are considered one of the top favourites to win the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They came very close and played the finals of the ODI World Cup 2023 and the World Test Championship 2023. Team India have picked up a solid team that can perform in any condition, and there are a number of match-winners in the group. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav had a brilliant T20 World Cup in 2022. So who will be the one who takes India to glory this time around?
Suresh Raina backs Shivam Dube as India’s X-Factor in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024
India have gone with four spinners in their squad after looking at the possible slow conditions in the USA and West Indies. But a lot will depend on how the Indian batting team performs. Virat, Rohit, and SKY will be very crucial in this lineup. However, former Indian star Suresh Raina feels that Shivam Dube has all the potential to be India’s X-factor in the T20 World Cup 2024. Dube, who is coming after a decent IPL 2024, will be playing his maiden ICC event.
His exploits with Chennai Super Kings earned him his place in the team. His ability to play big shots against spinners makes him a brilliant middle order batter. That’s what Raina pointed out. In a media interaction, Raina said, “Shivam Dube has an X factor that can turn him into a match winner for the team, as he is a major asset for the team now in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Since he possesses the ability to bat and bowl, his presence can immensely benefit India.”
India have Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja, who will be the first-choice all-rounders in the squad. Then, there will be a question between Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant. So it will be interesting to see how India use Dube in the middle order. He is a great striker against spinners and can play big shots in the middle overs. Adding to that, he can bowl some good overs with the ball, which makes him a complete package.
