In the ongoing ODI series, Shubman Gill seems to be a player back to his prime, as Gill, under some tough batting conditions, smashed 87 well-made runs while chasing a total for India. He was also awarded the Player of the Match for his wonderful performance.
Gill once again opened with Rohit Sharma at Cuttack when the English batters put on a good target of 305 runs, as Shubman Gill never looked uncomfortable playing his natural shots alongside the hard-hitting skipper. Gill made a quick 60 in the game and gave the team the perfect start they needed at the top.

Shubman Gill reached his 2500 runs in ODI cricket as the Indian batter entered his 50th international ODI match at Ahmedabad, the home ground of his IPL franchise, the Gujarat Titans. With ample experience up his sleeves, Gill completed his 2500 runs in ODIs and became the fastest to do so, even going past the former greats like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
With an average of nearly 60, Shubman Gill has scored 2500 runs in the white ball format in 50 matches and has also scored a double hundred in the making.

The rising superstar marched back to form, following the footsteps of his skipper, Rohit Sharma, who scored a stellar hundred in the last ODI. Gill seemed relentless since the first ball at Ahmedabad, despite Rohit’s early dismissal.
Batting alongside veteran Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill gave his fans reason to celebrate as he hit the third consecutive fifty of the series, but Kohli’s fifty almost overshadowed Gill’s iconic form. The Prince denied staying back, as ever since Kohli’s dismissal, he kept the scoreboard rushing alongside Shreyas Iyer, who is also having a very convincing series against England.
Gill’s 95-ball hundred at Ahmedabad marked his first ODI hundred after a long wait of almost 500+ days, which is nearly more than a year and a half. Gill’s last international hundred came back in 2024 in the test match against Bangladesh. This was also Gill’s first limited-overs hundred against England. Finally, his great 112-run inning came to an end with Adil Rashid cleaning him up with a flighted delivery on off.
Just before the Champions Trophy, Shubman Gill’s supreme form delighted Indian cricket fans.
