The top off-spinner in the Indian Cricket Team, Ravichandran Ashwin has missed out on the flight to England to join the Indian Test Team for the one-off test against India. This test match will be the series decider of the series that was played last year in England. India is currently leading the series 2-1. The unfortunate situation is that Ravichandran Ashwin, who is an integral part of the test team is in home isolation after testing positive for Covid-19. He also missed the flight to England due to the same reason.
Ravichandran Ashwin Misses Flight:
The Indian Cricket Team reached England earlier this week for the one-off test to be played. Ravichandran Ashwin wasn’t a member of that contingent and was expected to leave with the second batch. But to the surprise of the media, Ashwin did not arrive. The second batch consisted of 3 members. Rishabh Pant, Rahul Dravid, and Shreyas Iyer were the 3-members.
Earlier all the other team members moved to England. The team is currently under the supervision of Paras Mhambrey and batting coach Vikram Rathour. The only member who is not in England is Ashwin.
“Ashwin hasn’t travelled with the squad to UK as he has tested positive for Covid-19 before departure. But we are hopeful that he will recover well in time before the Test match starts on July 1. However, he might miss the practice game against Leicestershire.”, a BCCI official shared these details with the PTI earlier.

The practice match against Leicestershire is scheduled in the last week of June, just before the game. Ravichandran Ashwin is expected to recover quickly but his availability for the practice game is still questionable. Here is a better look at the schedule of the Indian Team:
