The Player of the match was skipper Shadab Khan, who scored 80 runs in 51 balls and also took three wickets. With this, Islamabad United jumped to the third position in the PSL 2024 Points Table.
Islamabad United played excellent cricket in the match no. 20 of PSL 2024 which led them to their third victory of the tournament. However, Islamabad need to play better cricket to secure their position for the knockout stage of the tournament. Islamabad United has played seven matches and from which, they won three and one match was abandoned due to rain therefore they have seven points and an NRR of +0.337
Islamabad United scored 196 runs on the scoreboard with the loss of only four wickets, Shadab Khan played a fantastic inning of 80 runs whereas Salman Ali Agha and Azam Khan scored 37 and 29 runs, respectively. From the Peshawar Zalmi bowling department, Saim Ayub took two wickets whereas Luke Wood and Salman Irshad took one wicket.
In the second inning, Peshawar Zalmi had a poor start as they lost a couple of wickets in the starting few overs of the match, which led them on the back-foot throughout the game. Aamir Jamal played an impressive inning of 87 runs but it wasn’t enough to win the match however, Paul Walter also played a decent inning of 33 runs.
From the Islamabad United bowling department, Shadab Khan, Hunain Shah and Rumman Raees took two wickets in this match. This match was very crucial for both the teams for the playoffs and Islamabad United took this opportunity seriously and won an important in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, which led them to the third spot in the PSL 2024 Points Table.
