The start of the first PAK vs BAN Test is just a few days away, and Bangladesh suffered a big setback. Star batter Mahmudul Hasan Joy has been ruled out of the series because of a groin injury. He will be out of the action for at least three weeks.

The 23-year-old was part of the first four-day game between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A. But he sustained an injury while fielding and couldn’t bat in the second inning. The BCB chief physician confirmed his unavailability.

On the other hand, veteran wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim is also nursing an injury but has been included in the squad. He is likely to play the first PAK vs BAN game. Mushfiqur also suffered a finger injury during the four-day game.

In a discussion, the veteran keeper said, “In the second innings (before going to bat), I got hurt in my finger so I did not bat. Hopefully, I will recover very soon and inshallah, I will play in the first Test.”
