PAK vs BAN: After their initial humiliating loss to the visiting Bangladesh side on their own land, the Pakistan cricket team faced immense criticism over their team selection of not having picked a single specialist spinner under sub-continent conditions.

Pakistan have called up some players to their squad for the second test. Abrar Ahmed, the leg spinner, has been called up, while Aamer Jamal who was earlier reported to be ruled out from the series has made a comeback.

Also, Shaheen Shah Afridi who reportedly left the side after the birth of his first child recently, is also set to join them prior to the second test, as now it is a matter of national reputation.

Also, Kamran Ghulam who has been reported as a top-order batsman has been linked for his debut call with Shan Masood’s side, following the Pakistan middle-order including the skipper has failed miserably.

Abrar was released from the squad ahead of the first test, as Pakistan managed to back their decision of playing all 4 seam bowlers in the first Test. However, this proved to be a blunder, as Bangladesh headed by their experienced spinner Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz demolished the hosts in their second innings which led them to their first win against Pakistan in the longest format.

Abrar under the same conditions might excel as he is now Pakistan’s only possible frontline spinner for red ball, though he adds slightly to their batting concerns.
