Team India Announced ODI and T20I Squads: After the ongoing match between India and Sri Lanka at home, the tournament starting next week will see the Indian team lock horns with New Zealand for the ODI and T20I series at home. With the presence of many players in the upcoming squad, India is missing some star players.
India have handed a return to Ranji Trophy debutant Prithvi Shaw in the T20I squad for the series against New Zealand, while KS Bharath was named as the wicketkeeper for the ODI squad.
Hardik Pandya’s captaincy will continue in the next T20I, which has a familiar set of players to clash against New Zealand at different grounds in India. Although there is no dearth in the spirit of the Indian player, for this ODI series, only Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be present in the team as experienced veteran players.
KL Rahul and Akshar Patel will be unavailable during the match due to family commitments. Arshdeep Singh’s name has not been included in the squad for the ODI series. Shahbaz Ahmed has returned to the ODI team in the form of Shardul Thakur.
The squad for the T20I series has retained Jitesh Sharma, who was called up as a replacement for Sanju Samson after he was injured in the field during the Sri Lanka series. Prithvi Shaw is the only major inclusion in the squad, with Harshal Patel, who was in the squad for the Sri Lanka series, missing out on selection. Mukesh Kumar, Shivam Mavi, and Rahul Tripathi have retained their places in the T20I squad.
