ODI Series: Afghanistan has announced the squad for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka: Continuing their cricket journey on the international stage, Afghanistan has announced their ODI squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. The announcement comes amid both anticipation and challenges, with key players sidelined through injuries and recovery.

Replacement of Qais Ahmed in the absence of Rashid Khan in Sri Lanka ODI series:

One of the most prominent names left out of the squad for the Sri Lanka series is Afghanistan cricket sensation Rashid Khan. Despite his immense talent, Rashid is still on the road to recovery from the back surgery he underwent late last year.

His absence will undoubtedly be felt, but the team is ready to adapt without him. Afghanistan has turned to another skilled wrist spinner, Qais Ahmed, to fill the void left by Rashid’s absence.

Injury continues in Afghanistan team:

Mohammad Saleem Safi’s unfortunate hamstring injury means he will miss the ODI matches against Sri Lanka. The setback not only affects his ODI prospects but also rules him out of the ongoing Test match, where he made his debut in red-ball cricket. Due to Safi’s absence, the team will have to adjust its plans and rely on other players to carry forward.

Sri Lanka Series Schedule:

The ODI series between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka is scheduled to start on February 9, with all three matches being played in Pallekele.
