NZ vs PAK 2024: New Zealand Announced a Strong Squad against Pakistan for the Five-Match T20I Series: The New Zealand Cricket Board has announced a 13-member squad for the five-match test series against Pakistan, which is scheduled to start on January 12. Kane Williamson will be leading the New Zealand side in this T20I series and some key players return to the team whereas Rachin Ravindra rested.
Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry return to the side after the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. All These players were rested for the T20I and ODI series against Bangladesh, However, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry were injured during the World Cup 2023.
Matt Henry suffered a hamstring injury during the World Cup match against South Africa whereas Lockie Ferguson suffered an Achilles injury but he will not be available for the first two games in the T20I series against Pakistan. Ben Sears has been added to the squad for the starting two matches only.
Youngster Rachin Ravindra rested for the T20I series against Pakistan:
Rachin Ravindra performed exceptionally well in International cricket in the year 2023 but New Zealand team management rested him so that he is available for the upcoming series and T20 World Cup 2024.
Kane Williamson will not be available for the 3rd T20I match against Pakistan, which will be played at the University Oval Cricket Ground in Dunedin, New Zealand. Mitchell Santner is expected to lead the team in the 3rd T20I game. An uncapped player Josh Clarkson has been included in the squad for the T20I series against Pakistan and most likely he will play a few games in this series.
