Jos Buttler opens up about his relationship with new white-ball coach Brendon McCullum

Jos Buttler, the English batter, in a recent interview, opened up on the quality time and experience he has had while featuring alongside McCullum both during his playing as well as coaching days.


Back in 2022, when Brendon McCullum was appointed as the England red ball skipper, Jos Buttler was yet a part of England’s test side, and he spent the early days with Brendon McCullum.

Recently, now almost a month ago, the England Cricket Board went on to appoint England’s red ball head coach after a stint of two years with the test side as their ODI head coach. McCullum will be joining the side in January 2025, when he will be resuming office as England’s full-time all-format head coach.

Recently, a week before McCullum made a tall claim over Buttler being England’s finest-ever white ball player. McCullum claimed that the way Buttler has performed for England and as delivered every time in whichever role the Englishmen needed him to has made a mark of his mame.

He also added, saying that Buttler doesn’t need to prove himself; what he is to do is that Buttler should go out and just play his natural game, enjoying what he does on the field.

Recently, after being injured in the Hundred competition, Jos Buttler was replaced from the T20i side as Phil Salt took over his role as a skipper. Now, extending his recovery time, Buttler has also been ruled out of the ODI series.

Instead, England youngster Harry Brook has been named the skipper for the ODI series, and also Liam Livingstone has been brought into the side. Buttler opened up on how he has spent time with McCullum, has played under him, and will be looking forward to spending more time with him in the future.
