Abhimanyu Easwaran was recently seen expressing immense displeasure after he missed his double-century by a whisker as he was dismissed for 191 runs, at the doorstep of an amazing ton in the Irani Cup.

The Irani Cup features two teams in Mumbai and the Rest of India, as the Mumbai team were posed to bat first. After the openers fell early, skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer added vital runs though Rahane missed on a nearing hundred as he was dismissed for just 97 runs.

After younger brother Musheer Khan was earlier ruled out of the Irani Cup due to his suffering an injury, elder brother Sarfaraz Khan played an innings of his lifetime as he batted with extreme composure in scoring his unbeaten double ton, as he ended his total with 222* runs.

The Ekana track didn’t look like a bowling pitch as in return even the Rest of India team up to post a good comeback total, as Abhimanyu Easwaran the opener batted across for 100 overs in the second innings, he scored 191 runs.

Easwaran also received support from Sudarshan, Ishan Kishan and lastly, Dhruv Jurel the wicket-keeper batter, who also missed on his nearing hundred. Both the batters were dismissed in successive overs by Shams Mulani, in the overs 101 and 103.

The second innings marked immense trouble for the Mumbai batters, as Prithvi Shaw was the lone player to play a breathtaking innings of 76 runs, as he startled all with his 37-ball fifty. However, this time around it seemed more promising a track for bowlers, as the two spinners, Manav Suthar and Saransh Jain shared 6 wickets between themselves.
