The TATA IPL 2022 was a true spectacle. However, there were many superstars of the game that we missed during this season. These players were the ones who missed out due to injury or due to national commitments. The league missed the antiques of Chris Gayle, the dominance of Ben Stokes, and many great players from across the globe. The presence of these players in TATA IPL 2023 will make a big impact and they will take the standard of the league to a higher notch. Here is a quick look at the top 5 players who will make a comeback to the IPL in 2023:

1) Ben Stokes:

Sir Benjamin Stokes as he is informally known was very keen to play TATA IPL 2022. But his commitments to his national team couldn’t make it possible. Ben Stokes has been playing well in the white-ball format for a very long time. He is a true 3-dimensional player. His performances in recent times are not very lucrative but a champion never fails.

Ben has become a different person after the 2016 T20I World Cup. He has fought his demons in life and has successfully overcome them. He happens to be an inspiration for the cricket community across the globe. His arrival at the IPL will add spice. He can be picked by any franchise but having him back at RR would be great.

2) Jofra Archer will make a comeback in TATA IPL 2023:

The TATA IPL 2023 is going to be excellent as the cricket community will get to see Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer playing for the same team. Jofra was bagged by the Mumbai Indians for 8 odd crores in the accelerator part of the auction. He was their trump card. The Mumbai Indians saved money throughout the auction. Their auction strategy seemed out of place in the initial stage but the moment they pulled out the tag for Jofra, the people went crazy. Archer is going to be spitting fire after making a comeback.

Jofra was elite for the Rajasthan Royals when he last played in TATA IPL 2020. His elbow injury has kept him out of action. His yorkers are laser-guided and pin-point. He has express pace and his bouncers are deadly.

3) Chris Gayle will make a comeback in TATA IPL 2023:

Christopher Henry Gayle is the face of the IPL. He dominated the IPL for 7 to 8 years. Even when the critics and the analysts wrote him off, Gayle slammed hundreds and won games for the Punjab Kings. Chris Gayle was recently inducted into the RCB hall of fame along with AB De Villiers. This speaks volumes of his contribution to the league.

In a recent interview with one of the top daily of India, Chris expressed his mind to play the IPL for one more season. He said he felt disregarded in IPL 2021 and hence opted out of IPL 2022. But now he feels that he must win the IPL trophy for at least the Royal Challengers Bangalore or the Punjab Kings. “They need me” is what he said. And it is somewhat true. This legend can still contribute by giving his experience to the young players and scaring the opposition with his mere presence.

4) Sam Curran will make a Comeback in TATA IPL 2023:

The England Cricket Board has some differences from the BCCI. They could have easily released players like Sam Curran to play the TATA IPL 2022 but they denied it. Sam Curran could have had a huge impact on the league if he played this season. He could have earned over 6 to 7 Crore Indian Rupees. Sam has a lot to offer on the field. His age is also by his side. He played a big part in Chennai Super Kings’ TATA IPL 2021 victory.

He bowls left-arm pace and that gives an added dimension to any team. Left-farmers produce an angle that is difficult to deal with. Curran will be keen on completing the rehabilitation program arranged by the ECB for him. When he takes the field, he will be rooting to go and win the big games for his team.

5) Chris Woakes:

We generally talk about Ben Stokes when it comes to English all-rounders but Chris Woakes is one solid player right beside him. Woakes can swing the ball and bat at number 7 or 6. He was previously associated with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals.

Woakes has had decent seasons in the IPL but hasn’t had a top-notch season. His cover drives are a treat to watch. One can never forget his innings in the test match against India which took the game away single-handedly.
