What happened to Tata IPL match number 36 Brabourne Stadium that Royal Challengers Bangalore collapsed like a palace of cards.Known as the highest run-scorer in cricket history (Run Masin), former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain and Indian international opener Virat Kohli are currently going through a rough patch of his career. In the 36th match of IPL 2022, Virat did not even play the bat, due to which he went back to the pavilion after getting out on a golden duck without opening the account.
Many times Virat’s bat might not have worked. But for the first time in IPL history, Virat Kohli has returned to the pavilion without opening an account twice in the same season IPL 2022 and both times Kohli has been dismissed for a golden duck. Earlier also against Lucknow Super Giants, Dushmanta Chamira had dismissed him on the first ball. In international cricket too, since 2019, no one has happened with his bat and ball, due to which Virat has not been able to score a century.
Former all-rounder Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has expressed concern. Irfan said during commentary from the commentary box on Star Sports, I have also played with Virat Kohli. But never thought that Virat would have such a bad time. Don’t understand the point of getting out twice for a golden duck. Apart from Pathan, Aakash Chopra said that Kohli must now think seriously about his batting.
Marco Jansson becomes the 5th bowler to get Virat Kohli out for a golden duck in IPL: Virat Kohli was first dismissed for a golden duck by Ashish Nehra in 2008. For the second time in 2014, Sandeep Sharma and in 2017 Nathan Coulter-Nile showed him the way to the pavilion on the first ball. Then after 5 years in 2022, Virat Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck by Dushmanta Chamira and now Marco Janssen has become the 5th player to get him out on the first ball.
In 8 matches played this season, Virat has scored 119 runs at an average of 17. Above mentioned are the names of the five bowlers and the season in which Kohli has been dismissed 5 times during the IPL, also within the first 10 balls. Fans are disappointed to see the disappointing performance of Virat Kohli.
After the match, Royal Challenger Bangalore captain Faf Du Plessis said that we played early, if we had not lost wickets in the first five overs, then perhaps our position points table would have remained intact. Faf Du Plessis said that a strong strategy has to be prepared for the upcoming match and a way has been found to establish a foundation.
