The latest reports from Cricbuzz have suggested that MS Dhoni is all set to be retained by the Chennai Super Kings, as he is all set to feature for CSK ahead of IPL 2025.

The talismanic player for the Super Kings has played for them since he was the biggest bid made in IPL 2008, the inaugural season. Dhoni since then has featured in every season for the Chennai Super Kings, as he has also led them to 10 finals and won 5 of them.

MS Dhoni was under the buzz over social media if he was likely to feature for CSK; however, when the BCCI’s IPL governing committee made a revolutionary change to the IPL retention rules, which marked the retention of players like MS Dhoni who retired or not featured in international cricket for over 5 years, they might be retained under the slab of uncapped players at a lower prize money of INR 4 crore.

Now, Dhoni raised the bar over social media on his possible intent to enjoy the remaining of the playing days, which indicated his possible return. Next, MS Dhoni has finally been announced to make a return to the CSK side as he gears up to feature in IPL 2025.

Alongside MSD, CSK might retain the trio of Jadeja, Pathirana, and Ruturaj

Chennai Super Kings will look to retain the likes of their most splendid playing trio, with the likely biggest retention option being Ravindra Jadeja, the first veteran who might be their first priority in the auction.

The next player who might be considered to be retained would include the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, the CSK skipper, and the opening batter, who might be retained ahead of the mega-auction, sighting his excellence in the format and the tournament.

The only overseas player who might be retained ahead of the mega-auction would include the likes of Sri Lanka’s Mateesha Pathirana, the pacer who aced the death overs for CSK in as many appearances he could make for the Men in Yellow.
