IPL 2023 Auction: Players CSK can buy in the IPL 2023 auction with the remaining purse value

The men in yellow from Chennai ended their IPL journey with great disappointment last year. The most consistent team in the IPL failed miserably under their newly appointed captain Jadeja, and even the magic man MS Dhoni, reappointed as captain, could not turn things around in their favor after Sir Jadeja stepped down from captaincy, thus leading to the second-last position end of their IPL 2022 journey.

Though the team management would be disheartened by the results, they would also be pleased by some players’ performances in the edition. As a result, they’d be looking forward to reshaping their roster in this year’s 2022 mini-auction.

CSK has solidarity in its opening pair with the likes of Gaikwad and Conway but seems to struggle in their middle order, with only Shivam Dubey contributing to most of the middle-order runs last year. CSK appears to have a potent finishing line with skipper Dhoni, Moeen Ali, and Jadeja. Deepak Chahar is the only international capped pace bowler, so the pace bowling deck appears immature and inexperienced. On the other hand, the spin department also seems to be loose, with only Theekshana being the peak of the bowlers.

CSK Remaining Purse: CSK now has a remaining purse of 15.45 crores, and with an additional amount of 5 crores added to each purse, the total purse amount is 20.45 crores.

5 players that CSK can buy in this year’s IPL mini-auction 2022:-

5. Kane Williamson

With a base price of Rs 2 crore, the Kiwi batter would be an ideal pick for CSK to bolster their middle-order squad. CSK could make a final offer of around 6 crores for the overseas batter, and he could be considered for captaincy in the near future.

4. Sam Curran

Due to an injury, the Englishman was released by CSK management prior to the 2022 mega-auction. With a base price of Rs 2 crore, he is an obvious choice for any franchise. CSK might go to a final bid of around Rs. 6 crore for the overseas all-rounder.

3. Narayan Jagadeesan

The talented young man from India can be one of the must-picks from the Indian list of players. With good form in Indian domestic tournaments, Jagadeesan can be picked up as the middle-order batter for the CSK side, bidding about 1-2 crores.

2. Manish Pandey

With lots of experience and knowledge of the game, Pandey is a suitable find to match the game standards of a CSK batter, and the men in yellow might bid a base of 1-2 crores for him.

1. Adam Zampa

The quirky Aussie spinner can be a suitable wicket-taking option in the middle overs, bowling alongside Jadeja, who is economical and puts pressure on the batting side. CSK could be worth 3-4 crores in the long run.

With not much left in the bank for the men in yellow, they might be looking forward to picking up a few young Indian nuts in Shreyas Gopal, Priyam Garg, and Murugan Ashwin for 30 to 50 lakhs each.
