IPL 2023: Both franchises started their IPL 2023 campaign on a high note, with CSK winning five and RR winning four of their first seven matches, as these two teams are placed at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, respectively.

1. Devon Conway vs. Trent Boult
To reclaim momentum in the tournament, you have to get the man in red-hot form out on the first go. Conway, with four continuous 50s, sits in the second spot on the Orange Cap list and has been laying the foundation for CSK’s huge totals. Trent Boult would once again be expected to deliver with the new ball and get his countryman out.
2. Ruturaj Gaikwad vs Yuzvendra Chahal
The Indian batter has been a sporadic talent in the IPL and has been largely praised as one of the finest batters in the IPL since 2021. His commanding form has been a great advantage for the Super Kings, and Chahal, who has served as the Royals’ best bowler since last year, would be expected to excel against the ace batter.
3. Jos Buttler vs Ravindra Jadeja
The heavily paid English batter has dominated play in the IPL, and though he has been doing this over the years, he has gained major prominence since 2019, especially in 2022. Jadeja too has been in terrific form in 2K23 and showed his excellent form with 10 wickets in 7 matches, excelling especially in the last few encounters.
4. Ajinkya Rahane vs. Ravi Ashwin
Rahane has been a stagnant performer in the IPL previously, but this year he is back with a boom playing for CSK. Rahane has been the prime architect of CSK’s humongous totals, and Ashwin can again be RR’s weapon against this batter, just like in their previous encounter.
5. Shimron Hetmyer vs Tushar Despande
Though Hetmyer has lacked proficiency in the last few innings, he is still a player of high caliber towards the end of the innings. CSK has, however, been the most economical team in the death overs, led by Tushar Deshpande. Although Hetmyer has been in good form overall this season, Tushar Deshpande will probably be enough to restrict him. The youngster has been in great form in IPL 2023 so far.
