The IPL mega-auction is not only cricketing action but also a stunning set of opportunities for players to show their calibre and is mainly an event that gives players a huge amount of money.

This IPL mega-auction, the biggest of its kind witnessed almost in a decade, saw teams almost change their entire squad, having spent a huge amount of money, with over 600 crores of money spent from the purses of these sides.

Despite these huge amounts of money spent, several players have received some considerable and noticeable pay cuts when their bids and salaries are compared to the previous salary received over the seasons.

This time around, Sam Curran goes back to his oldest side, the Chennai Super Kings, for just INR 2,40,00,000, which seems to show how eminently his price has dropped this time around.

Australian rising talent in the shortest format of the game, Spencer Johnson drew in a huge INR 10 crores for the Gujarat Titans, hardly getting games in the 11, while this time around defending champions KKR have roped him in for just INR 2.80 crores and might ensure him some more game time, despite a pay cut of INR 7.2 crores.

Glenn Maxwell

This time around he faces a big blow with just 4.2 crores under his belt, as he is sold to the Punjab Kings from the Royal Challengers Bangalore, the most sulking pay cut of the auction.
