The BCCI has officially announced the deadline for all the players to register for the IPL Auction. It is 5 pm on the 15th of December. This auction is not a mega auction like last time but it has very few players comparatively. But that doesn’t mean that the players lack quality. It is a good group of very talented players. Many amazing prospects are expected to sign up. The top names who could get the big bucks include Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Cameron Green.
“December 15 is the player registration deadline. We expect some top players to enroll. As for the auction date, December 23 is the set date for now. We are discussing some franchises’ requests to advance the date. But there are other factors involved. Only after deliberation with all stakeholders, we will come to a decision,” a BCCI official said when enquired about the IPL Auction.
Franchises Request for Rescheduling of IPL Auction:
The IPL 2022 Auction is expected to take place on 23rd December 2022. But the franchises are expected to request an extension. This is because the IPL Auction is on Christmas weekend. The coaching staff and the management staff of the maximum franchises involve a lot of foreign internationals and Christmas happens to be their time to relax. And hence the request has been made.
