IPL 2026 Mini Auction Date:
The Indian Premier League (WPL) 2026 Mega Auction is expected to take place in December 2025, most likely in Mumbai. IPL Governing Council hasn’t made any official confirmation on dates; they have yet to release the IPL 2025 Auction date and venue soon.
IPL 2026 Auction Purse:
For IPL 2026, each franchise will have a purse in between Rs. 10 – 40 crore, depending upon the number of players or high value players they released. It will also include the balance left from the previous season and any top-ups allowed by the BCCI.
IPL 2026 Player Retention & RTM (Right to Match)
Rententions are a big topic for IPL every season. For the IPL 2026 Auction, there will be no RTM as this feature is only available in the mega auctions. Teams will be releasing the players, and they can purchase the players in the auction through bidding within the purse limit.
Key IPL 2026 Mini Auction Rules:
Squad Composition: Each squad can include up to 25 players, but must have at least 18. Maximum 8 overseas cricketers allowed.
Base Prices: Players set base prices between Rs. 20 Lakh and Rs. 2 crore, with international stars usually in the top bracket.
Auction Bidding: IPL 2026 Auction will be in open format, with no cap bids as long as teams stay within their purse limit.
Trade Window: Teams can also trade players before and after the auction for a better squad and balance.
