IPL 2025 Mega Auction: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to have an important discussion with IPL owners for the TATA IPL 2025. Some of the important things like the Right to Match (RTM) and Salary of the Players are likely to be the key points in the discussion however, this will be the informal meeting in Ahmedabad on April 16, 2024. But, we get some clear ideas about the IPL 2025 mega auction and fans are early waiting for this event.
As per the media reports, some franchises want around seven to eight retentions ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. It is expected that the auction purse will increase in the upcoming auction however currently it is at around Rs. 100 crore. As of now, Teams are allowed to retain at max four players but it is expected that no. of retention will increase.
BCCI President Roger Binny, Secretary Jay Shah and IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal will also be present in the meeting with the IPL franchise owners. We can expect some major changes in the IPL 2025 mega auction however, it is expected that the mega auction will be held at the end of this year (likely to be in the last two weeks in December).
Why Right to Match (RTM) Card will be the key discussion for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction?
In the last IPL mega auction, which was held in year 2022, franchises were able to retain only four players. However, as per the reports, Franchises want more retention in the IPL 2025 mega auction as it takes time to find quality players and to get good performances from them however, the IPL mega auction is held after every three years.
Therefore, this impacts their long-term strategies in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It is going to be exciting to see the battle between all the team owners to buy the key players of other teams while retaining their own key players as well.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has started from March 22, 2024, to May 26, 2024. The IPL 2024 Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 21 and 22, respectively. However, The Qualifier 2 and IPL 2024 Final will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 24 and 26, respectively.
