IPL 2023 List of Central BCCI Contracts for 2022–2023: The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) released the lengthy list of players who have been given the “Central Contract” for the 2022–2023 season.
One of the greatest winners from the announcement was the all-around player Ravindra Jadeja, who received the A+ contract for his performances in various formats. KL Rahul was significantly demoted, moving from position A to position B. There were a few individuals, though, who were completely omitted from the list.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, Wriddhiman Saha, Deepak Chahar, and Hanuma Vihari, for example, were completely released from contract obligations.
The likes of Saha, Ishant, and Rahane are no longer relevant among these. Bhuvneshwar did participate in a few limited-overs games in the recent past, but it appears that other players have surpassed him in the standings.
Although injuries have stopped Deepak Chahar from playing a key role in India’s pace assault, he is still regarded as a great talent. Hanuma Vihari, who has contributed significantly to the India Test squad, too appears to be falling farther down the list of priorities right now.
As far as the current list is concerned, names like Deepak Hooda, KS Bharat, and Arshdeep Singh are just a few that have deservedly earned a spot in the Grade C category. But, Shikhar Dhawan is still one of the names that caught everyone off guard.
Shubman Gill appears to have displaced the opening batter, who only appeared in ODIs for the Indian squad. He is still considered by the BCCI, as evidenced by the fact that he is still in the Grade C category.
