The IPL 2023 Auction is just 10 days away. The event will be very exciting to watch, as all 10 franchises will be bidding to get hold of some of the best young talents across the globe. There are many interesting names in the pool of players. But as an Indian, what gets me more excited is the young Indian talent that will be going under the hammer. So, which are the top 3 Indian players who are registered in the TATA IPL 2023 Auction? Here is a look:
1) Mayank Agarwal is Registered in the 1 Crore Base Price Category:
The best name in the list of Indian players is that of Mayank Agarwal. He has registered himself in the 1 crore base price category which seems a little too low for a player of that stature. But with that being said, he will get the big bucks eventually. Mayank is one of the best players of spin across the globe. It is very sad to see how he has been sidelined from the Indian test cricket circuit just after a few failures.
Mayank led the Punjab Kings last season but had a mediocre season with the bat. He scored 196 runs at a below-par average of 16.33. He couldn’t be his true self as he was batting out of position. Agarwal needs to bat up the order.
2) Ajinkya Rahane/Manish Pandey has Registered in the IPL 2023 Auction:
Jinx and Manish Pandey are batters who will add immense value to any team. The best of both players comes out at the top of the order. Manish Pandey prefers to bat at number 3 while Rahane loves to open. Manish is coming off after two mediocre seasons. His IPL 2021 and IPL 2022 were below average. The batter is going through a tough time in his career. But will make a resurgence. Jinx will get a good team this time around. The Gujarat Titans can bid for him as they are looking for an Indian top-order batter. IPL 2023 can be his chance to shine.
Rahane on the other hand has already begun his fight back. He had a splendid SMAT 2022. He made sure to score quickly. The Ajinkya Rahane that we saw back in 2014 and 2015 was visible. He is technically sound and can get the job done. Both batters have a lot of experience.
3) Sandeep Sharma/N Jagadeesan has Registered in the IPL 2023 Auction:
Sandeep Sharma is an IPL Legend, to say the least. He is just too good with the new ball. Sharma has played for multiple teams and is one of the most consistent performers in the IPL. Sandeep has previously played for the Punjab Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He happens to be the highest wicket-taker in the powerplay overs. Sandeep has registered in the 50 lakhs base price category. IPL 2023 will have opportunities in store for him.
N Jagadeesan is coming after having a record-breaking VHT 2022 season. His 270+ runs innings are also a List A record across the globe. It is just unreal to match those numbers. That one inning is not the only thing that has made an impact but his entire season has. He scored 5+ tons throughout the season. He scored 830 runs at an average of 138.33 in the VHT 2022. IPL 2023 will be his chance to make it to the global stage.
