GT vs LSG: Both of these franchises made their debut last year and attained massive success, while on the one hand, the Titans made a remarkable opening with a title win in their very season of debut.

LSG shares a glorifying rivalry with the defending champions, as despite making their debut together, one team emerged unbeatable and went on to win the title, while the other managed to make it through to the playoffs but faced a crushing defeat in their very first playoff game.

GT vs LSG: Head to head

The Gujarat Titans would be hoping to keep up with their legacy as they get ready to feature in their second edition of the league. However, LSG made their debut in 2022 as well and had also left an impact on IPL 2022, which they are continuing with in 2023 as they stand at the no. 2 position.

Both teams have encountered each other twice in the IPL, with GT being the dominator of both matches, and both matches were led by the GT bowlers, as they comprised veterans like Rashid, Shami, and skipper Pandya.

GT vs LSG: Memorable Matches

After losing their last game against RR, GT has hampered their winning streak, and now they look to hop back into the encounter vs. LSG, who won their last match against the same opposition as RR. We take a brief note of the last few encounters between these two franchises.

1. Match 4 of the IPL 2022 saw the two debutantes clash against each other for the first time in the history of the IPL. LSG was put into bat by the Titans, and veteran Indian pacer Shami bowled with all his experience and excellence and claimed three wickets as he crushed LSG’s decorated and reliable top order.

However, the LSG middle order stood firm as both Hooda and Badoni put on a massive stand as they scored affluent 50s and got the team total to creep close to the 160s. In return, LSG bowlers too put on a brilliant show before the innings settled under the valiant skipper Pandya and veteran Miller.

The stabilized innings were, however, given a good and escalating finish by their recognized finisher Tewatiya, as he finished not out on 40 off 24 balls.

2. The second encounter was, however, in all ways different from the nature of the first game, as this time it was the GT batting that collapsed despite a good show put on by opener Gill, who stood tall with 63 runs, joined by Tewatiya for 22 off 16.

In batting terms, once again, the Supergiants seemed to faint in front of the extravagant GT bowlers, especially in front of veterans Shami and the 2 spinners Rashid and Sai Kishore, as both of them struck 4 and 2 times, respectively, to demolish the LSG innings for a mere total of 82.
