If both CSK and LSG win their next upcoming match, they will have 17 points, and the Net Run Rate of both teams will decide the second position. CSK holds a slight good NRR, although the margin is not to large.
If CSK wins against Delhi capitals :
In their next match against DC, if they win that match with a margin of 10 runs, then they will qualify for playoffs directly with a better run rate and secure a second rank in the points table, or else LSG will have to win their next match with a margin of 29 runs then CSK finished third with 17 points and qualified for playoffs.
If CSK loses against DC :
If CSK faces a defeat against DC in their next match, they will remain at 15 points in the IPL points table. In this Scenario, CSK’s chances of qualifying for the playoffs will rely on the other team’s result.
CSK will need Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Lucknow SuperGiants to lose their upcoming matches, so that they can secure their place in the playoffs.
