The TATA IPL will begin on the 26th of March, 2022. This ten-team tournament will be played entirely in the state of Maharashtra. The four stadiums in the close vicinity of Mumbai and Pune have been chosen as the designated venues. So, how do these venues play? Which are the high-scoring grounds? The venues will have similar climatic conditions. The climate is expected to be hot and humid. Here is an in-depth look:

IPL 2022 Venue List:

Name Of Venue Location

Brabourne-CCI Stadium Mumbai
DY Patil Stadium Navi Mumbai
MCA Stadium Gahunje, Pune

*** Playoffs are likely to be played in Ahmedabad.

Wankhede Stadium will be used in IPL 2022:

The Wankhede Stadium will be one of the top venues of IPL 2022. The pitch of the Wankhede Stadium has red soil. The wicket has pace, bounce, and turn on offer. The Wankhede Stadium pitch is friendly to taller spinners. Hence Rahul Chahar was a great success while playing for the franchise. The red soil allows the ball to grip and turn. Here is a look at a few stats of the Wankhede Stadium:

Record Name Value
Number of Games to be played 20
Highest Score in One Inning 235
Lowest Score in One Inning 67
Average Batters Strike Rate 139.8

Brabourne Stadium (Cricket Club of India) will be used in IPL 2022:

The Brabourne Stadium is the least-known Stadium in the IPL. It has hosted only 11 IPL games till now. But the wicket is generally batter-friendly. The pitch is high-scoring. It doesn’t have the traditional red soil of Mumbai but the wicket has pace and the ball comes well on the bat. The ground dimensions are also very average. It is not a very small or very large ground. As it is near the coast, the evening breeze can help the new ball bowlers to swing the ball in the initial few overs.

Record Name Value
Number of Games to Be Played 15
Highest Score in One Inning 212
Lowest Score in One Inning 115
Average Batters Strike Rate 140.

DY Patil Stadium Will be Used in IPL:

The DY Patil Stadium brings a lot of nostalgic experiences for all cricket fans. The knock-out stage of the IPL in the initial years was played on this ground. The ground has been the home of the Pune Warriors India. The DY Patil Stadium has also hosted the Under-17 FIFA World Cup in 2017. From 2014 onwards, the stadium was the home ground for the ISL franchise, Mumbai City FC. Over the years, the stadium has also hosted concerts of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and many other artists.

Record Name Value
Number of Games to be Played  20
Highest Score in One Inning 190
Lowest Score in One Inning 82
Average Batters Strike Rate 138.7

MCA Stadium Will be Used in IPL:

The MCA Stadium previously known as the Subroto Roy Stadium is one of the best stadiums of Maharasthra. It is an airy ground. It is located in the plateau city of Pune. Gahunje is its exact location which is on the outskirts of Pune. The stadium is open-ended and has a free flow of air. The stadium was under scrutiny and its pitch curator was suspended after the Border-Gavaskar in 2017. The pitch was rated poor by the ICC. But I believe the curator was made the scapegoat. The MCA Stadium has previously been the home ground for Rising Pune Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings. The pitch has a swing on offer in the initial powerplay overs.

Record Name Value
Number of Games to be Played 15
Highest Score in One Inning 201
Lowest Score in One Inning 101
Average Batters Strike Rate 135.6
