The IPL 2022 season has already begun. The teams have been formed and are rooting to perform well. Of the few games that have been played, you can already see many performers. Lalit Yadav, Aar Patel, Tilak Varma, and Umesh Yadav have left a mark in the first 3 games. But which are the players who can win games from out of nowhere? Here is a look at players who will flip games in a few minutes. You can watch the Cricket live scores.
Chennai Super Kings have Shivam Dube in IPL 2022:
Shivam Dube is an amazing batter. The potential that he has is unmatched. The CSK team management needs to bat him up the order. Using Dube as a finisher is not the ideal thing to do. In the absence of Moeen Ali, Dube could have been a good fit at number 3. The stalwart from Mumbai has a lot to offer. MS Dhoni can make stars out of average players but Shivam is already someone with a lot of class. If CSK continues to make him play the finisher’s role, Shivam is going to struggle big time.
Mumbai Indians have Tim David/Dewald Brevis in IPL 2022:
N Tilak Varma was supposed to be on this list but he has been hyped by a lot of channels and SportsDanka always works on giving you exclusive content. On the other hand, Tim David, the big Singaporean can perform exceptionally well for the Mumbai Indians. He gave us a glimpse of his skills in the first game when he hit Khaleel for a six. Dewald Brevis is another exciting investment. Many channels have tagged this exciting prospect as Baby ABD. Dewald is expected to solve Mumbai Indians’ middle-order blues. Tim can give the Mumbai team a few overs.
Lucknow Super Giants have Deepak Hooda/ Ravi Bishnoi:
The LSG squad has Deepak Hooda and Ravi Bishnoi as their X-Factor players. Deepak Hooda is one of the most improved cricketers in recent times. Ever since shifting for the Rajasthan Domestic team, Deepak has become a different gravy. He bats more responsibly. His scores in the SMAT and VJT speech volumes of his abilities. He also gives the team 2 to 3 overs of spin. Ravi Bishnoi on the other hand had a dream debut match. He performed exceptionally well. Bishnoi is the first Indian to play for the national team without playing any list A match. Bishnoi will be looking to book a ticket to the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
Gujarat Titans have Hardik Pandya in IPL 2022:
Fo the Titans, their captain is their X-Factor player. I have a gut feeling that Hardik Pandya is going to have a dream season with the bat. The local boy needs to bat up the order. He cannot bat below number 5. He needs to take responsibility and also finish games for the Titans. David Miller will be supporting him in the middle-order. Hardik is known for taking the spinners to the cleaners. He plays the short ball very well too. With the news that Hardik Pandya is bowling 135 clicks in the nets, he becomes an invaluable asset.
Punjab Kings have Liam Livingstone/ Odean Smith in IPL 2022:
The Punjabi Munde chased 204 runs in the first game against RCB. This speaks volumes of the amazing team that they have. Odean Smith and Liam Livingstone can be the game-changers this season. The Punjab Kings have bought Liam for a jaw-dropping amount. The hype around his big-hitting ability is a lot, whether Liam can replicate that in the IPL is a question! But he certainly has all the skillsets. He bowls leg-spin and off-spin too. Odean on the other hand is a utility player. He bowls 2 or 3 overs at 145 clicks and can give you 20 to 25 runs in 8 to 9 balls. He showed his skill in the first game against RCB at DY Patil.
Kolkata Knight Riders have Ajinkya Rahane/ Venkatesh Iyer in IPL 2022:
Dre Russ is definitely going to win you games and so are Varun and Narine. But Ajinkya Rahane can be the dark horse for the Kolkata franchise. Venkatesh on the other hand will be willing to make a statement. The sophomore year in the IPL is very crucial. Venky will be wanting to prove that he is much more than a “one-season wonder”. Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer will be keen to become the cream of the KKR batting lineup. Ajinkya is here to prove that “Form is temporary but class is permanent”.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has Nicholas Pooran:
Nicholas Pooran will be wanting to step on the ground as soon as possible. He had a dreadful IPL last season and will be looking to prove he is much more than a slogger. His performance against India in the West Indies Tour of India 2022 was good. He scored 3 consecutive half-centuries and also took a leadership role. Nicholas has to bat up the order. He cannot take the finisher’s role anymore.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have Anuj Rawat/Mohammad Siraj:
The RCB team has a few exciting names. Anuj Rawat is one unknown commodity. He keeps wickets for the Delhi State team and bats left-handed. His average is 35 at a strike rate of 136. Now those numbers make him a good opening batter alongside Faf Du Plessis. Anuj has been associated with RCB for two years. Suyash Prabhudesai is also an exciting name. The Hyderabadi Miyan is always in talks. Siraj had a poor 2019 season a decent 2020 season and an amazing 2021 season. 2022 can be his year. Siraj’s confidence is very high and he is bowling very well. He gives the team a few good overs in the powerplay. Death bowling is still a work in progress but he will get there.
Delhi Capitals have Prithvi Shaw:
Prithvi Shaw is facing a downfall in his career. After the amazing Border-Gavaskar trophy, he was sacked. His inability to play the incoming ball was evident. He recently also failed the Yo-Yo test at the NCA. But it was due to the fatigue that he had after playing 3 consecutive Ranji games. His Ranji season with the bat was also not the best. But Prithvi is a champion. He will be looking to make a statement. He played a controlled innings in the first game but when Mr. Warner arrives, he can explode and play his natural game. Prithvi is a superstar and it can be understood by the fact that this genius scored hundreds on his Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, and National team debuts.
Rajasthan Royals have Prasidh Krishna/ Devdutt Padikkal in IPL 2022:
Rajasthan Royals look like a very sorted team in IPL 2022. They have an amazing Indian core. Devdutt Padikkal and Prasidh Krishna are impressive prospects. Both the players from Karnataka are supreme in their skills. With Shikhar Dhawan aging fast and a left-handed opener being required in the national team, DDP can make a case for himself. His wristy-flick reminds me of Yuvraj Singh. Prasidh Krishna on the other hand has shown what he has on the international level. His spell against the West Indies in the one-day series was exquisite. With the Mumbai pitches helping fast bowlers, Prasidh can make effective use of the conditions.
