MS Dhoni, the Indian captain to lead India in all of the previous World Cups has been named the mentor of the team.
Yuzvendra Chahal Dropped: –
The big development in this is that MS Dhoni has been appointed as a mentor to this squad. Shreyas Iyer is one big name that has missed out. Yuzvendra Chahal also has been sacked. The team also doesn’t feature the much expected Mohammad Siraj. Yuzvendra Chahal was the front runner in the spin department. But unfortunately, he hasn’t been picked. Varun Chakravarthy instead has been given the preference.
Ravichandran Ashwin in T20 World Cup: –
Ravi Ashwin the best spinner in the world has been named in this squad. Ash wasn’t a regular feature in the squad but Washington Sundar’s injury got him this opportunity. Ravi plays for Delhi in the IPL and is expected to dominate the games in UAE. The squad features as many as 5 spinners.
