Team India has flared up the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium as they record the highest-ever T20 total scored by a full-member nation of the ICC.

India recorded a memorable and iconic 297/6 at the end of their 20-overs against the neighbouring nation of Bangladesh in Hyderabad, which surpassed the previous best of Afghanistan who had scored a historic 278/3 against Ireland back in 2019.

Though technically this is not the highest ever T20 international score, as Nepal recorded the highest score of 314/3 against Mongolia back in the Asian games in 2023.

However, it also surpassed India’s previous highest T20 score of 260 runs, which was recorded 7-years back against Sri Lanka in 2017. However, India fell short by just 3-runs from becoming the second team after Nepal to have posted a 300+ score in T20 international cricket.

Sanju Samson leads way for India with maiden T20I century at Hyderabad

India had a blistering start to their innings, as Sanju Samson retained his place for the third T20I, as India held onto their playing 11 from the previous games.

Though Abhishek Sharma could not make use of the amazing track at Hyderabad, opener Samson didn’t fail to capitalise on this amazing track. Sanju grabbed onto this opportunity as he hit his maiden hundred in international T20 cricket.

Samson alongside skipper Suryakumar Yadav put on a partnership of over 173 runs, as Samson posted 111 runs while his ton became the second-fastest by any Indian in T20s which came of only 40 balls.

SKY also followed his stellar effort with a captain’s knock as he delivered a 35-ball 75 knock. The perfect end to the Indian innings was marked by the next set of batters who came in to bat. Riyan Parag was promoted up the order for the first time as he batted at no.4 alongside the all-rounder Pandya at no.5, as they both heavily contributed to India’s total.

Parag scored a 13-ball 34 while Pandya neared one of the fastest fifties in the history of Indian cricket as he scored an 18-ball 47-run knock which took India inches closer to a 300-run T20I score for the second time in T20 internationals.
