Washington Sundar suffered a shoulder injury while representing Lancashire in the Royal London Cup in England. Washington Sundar did not return to the field after the injury and did not play in the rest of the game.
India’s new team will take on Zimbabwe in the three-match series, with the fans bolstered by the return of KL Rahul, who will captain the team.
Harare Sports Club will host the three ODIs from August 18 to August 22. The series will be played under the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, which will automatically determine the qualifying spots for next year’s World Cup. India is currently ranked seventh with 79 points from 12 matches while Zimbabwe is at 13th with only 35 points from 15 matches.
India has already qualified for the World Cup as hosts, but Zimbabwe will look to climb up the table at any cost, who desperately need points to stay in place for the automatic qualifying spot.
