IND vs SA: Team India Updated Squad, Mohd. Shami was replaced by Avesh Khan for the 2nd Test against South Africa: BCCI announced an updated squad for the 2nd and last test match against South Africa, Avesh Khan replaced the injured Mohd. Shami, who is suffering from an ankle injury after the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. The Addition might lead to some changes in the playing XI of Team India in the second test match in Cape Town.
India lost the first test match against South Africa by an inning and 32 runs at SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Centurion. Indian Team didn’t play good cricket which resulted in defeat in the crucial match for the ICC World Test Championship 2203-25 Cycle.
The Key Players like Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, Mohd. Siraj didn’t perform well whereas Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah gave wonderful performances and were fighting alone with the South African Team. If they get support from other players then results might be reversed.
Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 5 and 0 runs, respectively in both the innings in the first test match, which wasn’t expected from him. ICC fined the Indian Team for the slow over rate in the first test, they were fined 10% of their match fees and also lost two points in the ICC World Test Championship 2203-25 Points Table.
After losing the match against South Africa, the Indian Team went to the sixth position with 14 points and a PCT of 38.89% in the ICC WTC Points Table 2023-25. South Africa jumped to the top position with 12 points and a PCT of 100% in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Points Table.
Team India has to play good cricket in the upcoming test match against South Africa at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. Most Importantly, All the players have to perform collectively like they were playing in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.
