IND vs NZ: The New Zealand series is about to begin, though the toss is delayed at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru due to rain. The Indian side will be hosting New Zealand for a three-match red ball series from the 16th of October.

Some reports from Hindustan Times claimed that Shubman Gill the star Indian no.3, due to his stiff neck might not be considered to feature in the India squad for the first test.

Though, KL Rahul the Indian veteran in red-ball cricket made his comeback to tests owing to a long gap from the format, replaced Sarfaraz as Rahul has now been assigned a new position in the playing 11.

KL Rahul who was seen playing down the order in the last Bangladesh series might be seen promoted up the order to bat in position of the no.3 batter, while Sarfaraz Khan might now be brought back into his natural position of no.6 batter.

The Mumbai-based batter who starred in the Irani Cup final recently for Mumbai as they took on the Rest of India’s side, recorded a heroic 222, a historic innings recorded in the history of red-ball domestic cricket.

Making his debut for India against England, Sarfaraz Khan has played in only 5 innings for India and went on to score 3-fifties where the 26-year-old has scored at a very healthy strike rate as well.

KL Rahul on the other hand has played several tests for India and was seen as the opener of the side until Rohit Sharma as the skipper of the Indian team moved himself up the order, would be equally delighted to be promoted up the order for the Indian side.
