IND vs BAN: Bangladesh’s tour to India has been a highly anticipated series; hence, this initiates the beginning of India’s hectic test match schedule. The team will play 10 test matches, and the end of it will be marked by the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be played between India and Australia from the month of November to January.

Though the buzz lies mainly around the red ball series, the Bengal Tigers will also play a 3-match series in the shortest format of the game, as the series begins on the 6th of October. The first test will be played from the 19th to the 23rd, while the next test will conclude on the 1st of October at Kanpur.

This series will mark the second major T20I series assignment for India since the appointment of Gautam Gambhir and also India’s new skipper for the shortest format of the game, Suryakumar Yadav, who won his first series against Sri Lanka as a captain.

Latest reports suggest that India’s white-ball vice-captain, Shubman Gill, might be rested ahead of the series, as this has been a move that rests him off his extreme workload before the vital red-ball matches awaiting team India and Gill.

Shubman, if rested, then Abhishek Sharma, the centurion from the Zimbabwe tour, might be brought back into the T20i side. Also, Ruturaj Gaikwad can be considered in the opening role following his fine form, since the CSK skipper was said to be ideal to replace the veteran Virat Kohli after his retirement.

India’s all-format wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant, might also be rested from the series, once again the reason being his utility in the longest format of the game. Ishan Kishan might be back to the Indian team, as he can also take on the role of opener alongside Jaiswal.

Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah might also be rested again, as it seems this time India under new coach Morne Morkel is looking to rebuild their pace bowling deck with the likes of young pacers like Arshdeep, Harshit Rana, Khaleel Ahmed, and Tushar Deshpande.
