IND vs BAN: India will announce their Red ball squad after the first round of the Duleep Trophy – Star batter to make a long-awaited comeback after 634 days

IND vs BAN: India will be making an announcement of the squad for the 2-match red ball series against Bangladesh that will initiate India’s red-ball campaign. This will be taking place before the Indian team assemble at the Chennai stadium on the 12th of September, before the initiation of the Bangladesh test series from the 19th of the month.

The BCCI asked several of their international test players to play alongside many other bright prospects in the longer format of the game, in the Duleep Trophy. Likes of KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant have stepped in to compete in the Duleep Trophy.

The Duleep trophy though faced a major setback, with India’s T20I skipper, Suryakumar Yadav already having been ruled out due to injury. Also, Mohammad Siraj and now Ishan Kishan are set to miss the first round of the Duleep Trophy.

The first round of the competition will be of great importance as several players like Pant, Iyer, and Sarfaraz who have made their debut before look to fix their team spots, while players like Sai Sudarshan will also look to fantasise about their spot in the Indian team, especially after his Surrey hundred which he scored recently.

Rishabh Pant is expected to make his return to India in whites, as he made his comeback to both the T20I side as well as the ODI side. Pant was India’s best-ranked and most-inform test batter before his injury while he was ruled out due to his misfortunate injury.

He will return to the side after 634 days, while he was also a part of their T20 World Cup winning squad, Pant’s return can solve India’s problems of both a middle-order batter and a wicket-keeper.
