BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that “The venues and Date of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will be decided during the World Test Championship Final in England.”
WTC final 2023 will start from June 7th to June 11th. Shah said that the full schedule would be announced after the meeting with Other members in England.
The statement from Shah came after the Board’s Special General Meeting (SGM) on May 27th in Ahmedabad. Most Probably, This Meeting was done with two purposes.
The first one would be for Asia Cup 2023, whose dates and tournament possibilities will be decided in one to two days as BCCI has invited Other ACC members like the Chief of Bangladesh Cricket board, Afghanistan Cricket board, and Sri Lankan cricket Board.
Pakistan will host the Asia Cup 2023 due to the Political Instability and Security Concerns, Indian Government will not give permission to BCCI to send Indians players in Pakistan to Play cricket or any tournament.
In response to It, BCCI said that the Tournament would happen on neutral venue like the last time it was held in UAE, but it was supposed to be played in Sri Lanka.
PCB Chief on World Cup 2023:
Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Said That “They would not play Asia Cup 2023 if the matches will not happen in Pakistan and also said that They will play World Cup 2023 on a neutral venue, not in India, But as per the Report, India vs Pakistan match will be Played on October 15th at MA Chidambaram Stadium.”
BCCI Secretary on ICC World Cup venues:
BCCI Secretary Said that “15 venues are shortlisted for the ICC ODI world cup 2023, which will happen in October after the Asia Cup 2023.”
He said, “Money is Coming to BCCI, but the Facilities of some Stadiums are not upto the mark whereas Narendra Modi Stadium, Dharamshala, Indore, and Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium are well maintained and have good Facilities, and we want to make other stadium like this but our priority is to renovated those stadium first which are shortlisted for the World Cup 2023.”
He added, “We have Given This Work To Grand Thornton International, who initially got this deal of 15 stadiums. After this stadium, we will expand this deal to the other stadium to meet international Standard.”
