England Cricket Team
England will be ;looking to get their hand on their second T20 Trophy.

England, the creators of this lovely sport of cricket are always a great prospect for winning the ICC events every time. The Champions from the 2019 ODI World Cup will be looking to get their hands on their maiden T20 trophy. A team is a great group of T20 Specialists and their slam-bang approach works well in the shortest format. The absence of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer from the T20 Squad for the World Cup is going to harm them a lot. These two were crucial in England lifting the trophy. Here’s an analysis of their squad: –

Strengths of the England Cricket Team: –

The biggest strength of the English team is the presence of great batsmen. The likes of Johnny Bairstow, Jason Roy, and Jos Buttler are enough to scare the opponents by mere presence. Add to it the likes of Eoin Morgan, Liam Livingstone, and Dawid Malan. This is one hell of a deadly lineup.

The other strength has to be the experience that all these individuals possess. They have been in the cricketing circuit for over 7 to 8 years. These players have taken up leadership roles for franchises all over the world and know how to deal with crunch situations. Chris Jordan and Tymal Mills have been free agents and have the experience of playing all over the globe.

Weakness of the England Cricket Team: –

In the absence of a specialist spinner, Adil will have to bear the workload.

An evident base that the Brits haven’t covered is spin. They do have a spinner in the form of Adil Rashid but a genuine option is still absent. Adil hasn’t been a part of franchise cricket which gives him a few demerit points as well. They do have Livingstone and Ali but they too at times leak runs. They should have gone for a more reliable option like Leach.

Opportunities for the England Cricket Team: –

The most significant opportunity is for Chris Woakes and Mark Wood. Mark Wood is a genuinely quick bowler and has been in Archer’s shadow for a while. He has the ability to make the ball take off the pitch like a rocket. He can bowl up to 150 clicks regularly. Woakes on the other hand has to fill the void of Stokes. Stokes has been an integral part of the team making significant contributions and now it’s time for Woakes to portray what he has got.

The absence of Ben makes Chris an automatic choice to the 11!

Threats for the England Cricket Team: –

The biggest threat for the Englishmen in the failure of their slam-bang approach. This policy of going after every ball and keep the pressure on the opposition doesn’t reap good dividends. At times the batting gets perished very quickly and they get wrapped up for a two-digit score. On the other hand, in the case of bowling, the tactical changes take a hit. Also, the absence of their best players in Jofra and Stokes will be a big void.
