ICC Men’s Batting Rankings: In the latest update of the MRF Tires ODI batting rankings, Indian cricketer Shubman Gill has made significant progress and could overtake Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who is currently at the top spot, in the coming few seasons.
Gill has been in excellent form for the Indian cricket team in the opening two ODIs against Australia.
In these two competitions, he has scored a total of 178 runs, showcasing his excellent batting skills. He scored a quickfire 74 in the series opener in Mohali and followed it up with his sixth ODI century in Indore.
This remarkable performance has taken Gill to a new career-high rating in the updated list of ODI batsmen with a total of 847 rating points. He is now just 10 rating points behind Babar Azam.
This rivalry between Babar and Gill at the top of the ODI batting rankings is expected to continue throughout the six weeks of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to begin on October 5. Pakistan does not have to play any official ODI match till then.
The World Cup opener and Gill are expected to sit out India’s final match against Australia, meaning Babar will enter this year’s tournament as the top-ranked ODI batsman.
It is worth noting that the competition for the top spot in the batting and bowling rankings is intense, with South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen currently ranked third among ODI batsmen, but he is more than 100 points behind the leading pair of Babar and Gill. Are.

Best Performance of Indian Bowler
