England announces women’s team for upcoming women’s cricket series against Ireland: The England women’s cricket team is set to play an exciting series against Ireland in September 2024. This white-ball series will include three-match ODI and two-match T20 series, which will start from September 7.
England will be captained by Kate Cross in this series, who will replace regular captain Heather Knight. Many senior players including Heather Knight have been rested in this series, giving new players a chance.
Many new faces will be seen in the England team this time. Hannah Baker, Georgia Davis, Charis Pavli, Rena MacDonald-Guy, Paige Scholefield, Georgia Adams and Seren Smale, all these players are going to start their senior international career.
Apart from this, Mady Villiers is also making a comeback in this team, who will play her first international match after 2021. Mahika Gaur, who was out of the home series against New Zealand due to side strain, will also be a part of the team this time.
Former English international player John Lewis will be the head coach for this series. Courtney Winfield-Hill and Chris Liddle will guide the team as assistant coaches.

“The squad has an exciting mix of experienced international players, those that are returning to a squad having played previously and those yet to take their first steps on the international stage. This is a strong squad made up of many players that have grown from being part of a strengthening domestic game.
“Ireland Women are coming off the back of a significant series win against Sri Lanka and this, mixed with playing away from home, will pose a significant challenge.“It’s always a special moment to see players make their debut and seven could do so on this tour.”
