Team India are currently participating in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They have made it to the Super 8 and will be hoping to end their trophy drought with the tournament’s win. But not just this tournament; The Men in Blue have a long cricket summer coming up after the T20 World Cup 2024. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the schedule for summer on June 20 (Thursday). The Indian team will tour Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka after the ongoing ICC event. On the other hand, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England will travel and play in the Indian conditions. So let’s check out the Indian schedule after the T20 World Cup 2024.
India to Tour Zimbabwe for 5 T20Is
Just after the T20 World Cup, the Indian team are scheduled to travel to Zimbabwe for a T20I series. Both teams will play five matches in this series, which will start on July 6. All five matches will be played at Harare Sports Club. The next four games will be played on July 7, 10, 13, and 14, respectively. The selection committee are likely to send their second-string team.
India to Tour Sri Lanka for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is
After Zimbabwe, the Indian team will travel to Sri Lanka for the ODI and T20I series. Both teams will play three ODIs and three T20Is on this tour. The scheduled date has yet to be confirmed, but the tour is likely to get underway on July 27. The Men in Blue will play the ODIs with their full-strength team.
Bangladesh to Tour India for 2 Tests and 3 T20Is
After two away tours, the Men in Blue will host Bangladesh for two Tests and three T20Is. This tour will start with the first test on September 19 in Chennai. The second test will be played in Kanpur, starting on September 27. This series is part of the World Test Championship. The three T20Is will be played on October 6, 9, and 12 in Dharamsala, Delhi, and Hyderabad, respectively.
New Zealand to Tour India for 3 Tests
New Zealand will travel to India for a three-match Test series, starting on October 16. The venues for the three tests are Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai. Three tests will start on October 16, October 24, and November 22.
India to Tour Australia for 5 Tests
The biggest assignment of this summer will come underway when the Indian team travel to Australia for the BGT five-match series. The venues for the series are Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, and five matches will be played in this sequence. The start dates of five tests are November 22, December 6, 14, and 26, with the final game on January 3.
England to Tour India for 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs
After the Australian tour, the Indian Team will host England for 8 matches (5 T20Is and 3 ODIs) ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy. The tour will start with the first T20I on January 22, and the next four matches will be played on January 25, 28, 31, and February 2. The venues to host these matches are Chennai, Kolkata, Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai. The three ODIs will be played on February 6, 9, and 12 in Nagpur, Cuttack, and Ahmedabad, respectively.
