IND vs AUS: Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir has been under the radar after India’s disappointing performance in a 3-0 whitewash against New Zealand at home. Gambhir may receive a huge setback in losing his position of red-ball head coach, if India loses the BGT.

After losing the series to New Zealand, team India’s hopes of making it to the World Test Championship final rely on the results of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Rohit Sharma and Co. need at least 4 wins out of 5 to qualify for the finals without depending on any conditions.

According to the reports, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), captain Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, Ajit Agarkar, along with Jay Shah and Roger Binny, had a 6-hour review meeting after India’s 0-3 loss vs. New Zealand.

As per a report in Dainik Jagran, if the Indian team performs poorly in Australia, the BCCI might appoint a specialist like VVS Laxman as the Test coach, while Gautam Gambhir would continue his role as coach in the white ball formats.

The beginning of what was expected to be a successful coaching career for Gautam Gambhir has not unfolded as he or the Indian team’s supporters had hoped.
