The mighty Aussies have finally declared their squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. The World Champions, who dominated every subcontinent team in the last Cricket World Cup played in India in 2023, will be soaring high as the reigning champions of the 50-over format.

Australian skipper Pat Cummins was reported to be doubtful for the Champions Trophy with the ankle injury the veteran skipper faced after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, Australia has still included the World Cup-winning skipper for the Champions Trophy, though his participation is still subject to questionable doubt over his fitness.

Australians, as well as cricket fans, celebrated the return of big Australian all-rounder Cameron Green on the field in a training session after his surgery, which supposedly ruled him out for 6 months, as a result of which Green was not drafted even in the IPL mega-auction.

However, despite that, Cameron Green has not been considered for the Champions Trophy. While not Jake Fraser McGurk, Matt Short has been considered as the opener alongside Travis Head for the Champions Trophy. Short can also bowl occasional off-spin, which comes in handy at times, especially when they play on the subcontinent tracks of Pakistan.

Australia’s Squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025:

Pat Cummins [C], Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood, Nathan Ellis, Aaron Hardie, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh, Matt Short, Marcus Stoinis, and Adam Zampa.

Australia’s predicted playing XI for the Champions Trophy:

Openers: Matt Short and Travis Head

Middle Order: Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey [wicketkeeper]

All-Rounders: Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell

Bowlers: Pat Cummins/Aaron Hardie, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, and Josh Hazlewood
