The Australian Cricket Team has always been a world-class team. From the early 80s including the era of Sir Don Bradman to including Dennis Lille, from being an invincible team in the early 2000s to win their first T20 Championship in 2021. The Australian team at any global event has made a mark. The performance shown by the Australian Cricket Team on Sunday evening was exceptional. But what makes Australia an unbeatable team in these global ICC tournaments? Here’s a look: –
A Team Effort by the Australian Cricket Team: –
Australia always has been a team studded with Superstars. But when it comes to performing on the big stage, the entire team makes equal contributions. The performances come in individual games from individual players which makes sure that the team wins the title. So, it can be Ricky Ponting in the 2003 ODI World Cup Final or Mitchell Starc in the 2015 ODI World Cup Final. The team won the semi-finals after contributions from Warner, Wade, and Stoinis. They won the finals due to solid performances from Warner and Marsh. The bowling unit too helped and worked as a team. Start conceded runs in the final but he had a great tournament. Hazelwood didn’t have a great tournament but he came to the party when it mattered. The Australians give us a live example that “Drop by drop an ocean is created.”
“Never Give Up Mentality” by Australian Cricket Team: –
The Australian Cricket Team has the “Never Say Die” attitude. They always perform exceptionally well in every match. Even if the match seems to be one-sided and not in favor of the Aussies, they try to create miracles. They never give up. Their intent to win a game is clearly on display. Even after losing 5 wickets against Pakistan in the semi-final, their spirits were not low. The players believed in the abilities of Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis. Even after conceding 170+ runs in the final, their intent to chase was clear from ball one. David Warner attacked Trent Boult once he settled in and his intent to go for the win was more than visible.
Supportive Management and Backing Experienced Players: –
The management of the Australian Cricket team having the likes of Justin Langer has backed the experienced players. David Warner was having the worst time of his cricketing career in the IPL of 2021, yet he was approved by the Australian management. David Warner eventually became the Man of the Tournament and helped Australia win their first-ever T20 World Cup. He was exceptional throughout the tournament.
