Asian Games 2023: India announces women’s cricket team for Asian Games & Schedule: The BCCI has announced the women’s team for the 19th Asian Games, which will be contested in Hangzhou from September 19 to October 8.
India has picked a strong squad for the Asian Games in Hangzhou, led by regular T20I skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.
Harmanpreet will be assisted by Smriti Mandhana as the squad strives for a gold at the Asian Games. Last year, the team earned a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games.
The roster differs somewhat from the one that just played Bangladesh. Notably, Richa Ghosh returns to assume the gloves, with Yastika Bhatia not making the team of 15 and five on standby.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad, who was left out of the Bangladesh series team, also returns.
Sabbhineni Meghana, who was in the team for the Bangladesh series, has been pulled out, while Meghna Singh, Monica Patel, and Rashi Kanojiya have also been left out.
Standby players include Sneh Rana, Pooja Vastrakar, and Harleen Deol, as well as left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque, who made an impression in the Women’s Premier League.
